Dog rescued from Alexandria home during structure fire

A fire broke out on the second floor of a home in Alexandria on Thursday morning, but firefighters quickly brought it under control.

The Alexandria Fire Department responded to the blaze on Summers Dr. at approximately 11:44 a.m. and managed to rescue a dog on the scene.

The department shared an update on Facebook at 1:23 p.m., confirming they had the situation in hand.

Officials have yet to reveal what sparked the fire or detail the extent of the damage to the house. They also haven’t said how the rescued dog is doing.

Alexandria Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire this morning at 415 Summers Dr. The second-floor fire is now under control. One dog was rescued on the scene and no injuries to occupants were reported.
