Department of Beer and Wine (DBW), a gourmet beer and wine shop in Potomac Yard, is moving to the Del Ray neighborhood.
In an email to DBW Wine Club members, the shop owners said they are moving to 2805 Mount Vernon Avenue. DBW will be moving into the location formerly occupied by the ASAP Printing and Mailing Company and will share the building with a Truist bank.
According to the email:
We have some incredible news! We are moving the shop, and moving closer to you all! This has all been a long time coming, and something we have been working on tirelessly for a year now, but we are finally ready to announce to you all first, WE ARE MOVING THE SHOP!
The email said the plan is to reopen at the new location in the heart of Del Ray in April, pending permit and inspections.
Team DBW said in the email that the new location will allow more tastings and events, particularly during Del Ray street closure events.
Virginia ABC does not allow DBW to take inventory to the new location, so the store will be “selling off everything we have over the next month” with a few sales at the current spot (2724 Richmond Highway).
“It was always our dream to open on the main road originally but never found the right space, but after 7 years at our current location a dream spot finally opened up,” the email said. “We love being in this community, and can’t wait to be closer to all of the action in the heart of Del Ray!”
