Five Del Ray businesses are shortlisted finalists for the neighborhood’s coveted Heart of Del Ray award to be given this Friday, Valentine’s Day.
The Del Ray Business Association gives the annual award. Anyone can cast a vote for their business of choice here.
According to the online survey:
“The Heart of Del Ray Award is presented annually by the Del Ray Business Association during the Valentine’s Day holiday to the business that best represents the heart and soul of Del Ray,” the website said. “We are excited that YOU — our neighbors, customers and friends — will determine the winner of this prestigious award.”
The website said the selection should be based on “which business best demonstrates their warm and welcoming attitude” along with commitment and generosity to the community.
“In other words,” the website said, “what business warms your heart when you hear its name?”
Only one vote is allowed per person. Voting closes at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
The finalists are:

- Del Ray Artisans (2704 Mount Vernon Avenue)
- Del Ray Hardware (2003 Mount Vernon Avenue)
- Gustave Boulangerie (2213 Mount Vernon Avenue)
- St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub (2300 Mount Vernon Avenue)
