What’s closed for Labor Day weekend in Alexandria?

Monday is Labor Day, meaning this weekend will have several holiday-related closures.

Most offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2, but the big one starting tomorrow (Friday) is Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS). ACPS will be closed to students tomorrow (Friday) and on Monday.

All City of Alexandria government offices will be closed on Monday.

For those wishing to spend the day at a museum, though: all museums will be operating on their standard schedules.

Other changes include:

  • DASH will be operating on a Sunday service schedule on Monday. The King Street Trolley will run every 15 minutes from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
  • The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA) will be closed on Monday
  • All Alexandria courts will be closed
  • The DMV will be closed on Monday
  • All libraries will be closed
  • Alexandria Police Department will suspend parking restrictions at metered spaces and residential permit parking districts on Monday.
  • The Warwick Pool and Old Town Pool will be open from 10 a.m.-4:45 p.m. The Charles Houston Recreation Center and Patrick Henry Recreation Center will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. All other Alexandria recreation facilities will be closed.
  • The Torpedo Factory Art Center will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
