Medical examiner says man discovered dead in Four Mile Run in April accidentally drowned

Four months after 32-year-old Keben Isaias Perez was found dead in Four Mile Run, the Office of the Medical Examiner has ruled the cause of death to be accidental drowning.

According to a release from the Alexandria Police Department:

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia has ruled the cause of death of 32-year-old Keben Isaias Perez, on April 24, 2024, as an accidental drowning.

Police responded to a call for a deceased person in the river near Four Mile Run Park around 1:27 p.m. on April 24. The incident was earlier investigated as a suspicious death.
