Alexandria launches photo contest for 275th anniversary

Millions of photos are taken every year in Alexandria, but can yours win a contest?

In recognition of Alexandria’s 275th birthday, the city launched a photo contest earlier this month. Photogs can upload five of their best photos by the deadline of Nov. 1.

According to the city:

From July through September, capture the essence of Alexandria through your lens. We are looking for photos that align with the theme: “Connecting to our past to define a brighter future”

Selected photos will be featured on the City’s website and social media, displayed at city facilities, and will receive a gift bag filled with ALX275 goodies!  Winners will be announced at the 2024 Holiday Tree Lighting in December.

Participating photographers need to sign a photographic release statement giving the city permission to own, edit and use the photos for promotional material.
