(Updated 11:45 a.m.) Alexandria Living Magazine reported that construction on a new Seminary Road housing project is scheduled to kick off this May.

Sheltered Homes of Alexandria, a project approved by the City Council in 2021, is a 36-unit development planned for 4547, 4555, and 4575 Seminary Road.

Three of the multi-family units will be 4-bedroom housing units operated by Sheltered Homes of Alexandria, which will help expand the number of intellectually disabled adults currently served at the group home at 4547 Seminary Road. Housing Alexandria said the rest of the 35 townhome units that aren’t part of Sheltered Homes of Alexandria will be affordable at 80% of area median income.

A Seminary Road Affordable Homeownership Program accompanying the project can help first-time homeowners making less than 80% of area median income.

Housing Alexandria estimates the following sales prices:

  • 2BR Condo: $275,000 (5 total homes)
  • 2BR Town: $325,000 – $350,000 (16 total homes)
  • 3BR Town: $350,000 – $380,000 (15 total homes)

Construction on the new buildings is scheduled to start in May 2024 with the buildings completed by the end of 2025.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
