At the event, you’ll experience the sophisticated features that define the new single-level condominiums at Towngate North. Open living spaces, natural light, stainless steel appliances and refined finishes are staples of the home designs, and with pricing from the mid $500’s to $2M+, there’s a variety of floorplans to choose from to fit your lifestyle and needs. Select layouts include dens and private outdoor spaces and all homes come with private parking in an on-site garage.

Homeowners of Towngate North will also enjoy a plethora of on-site conveniences across the two condominium buildings that make up the community. These include a fitness center with a yoga room, a community clubroom and rooftop terrace for social events, a furnished conference room for easy remote working and a dog spa for any four-legged friends. A bike storage and repair area and building concierge add to the everyday easiness of life at Towngate North.

The community’s location at the intersection of Slaters Lane and the G.W. Memorial Parkway also puts homeowners in convenient access to commuter routes, Metro, recreation and entertainment throughout Alexandria. The Mt. Vernon Trail, scenic parks and waterfront recreation along the Potomac River are just steps from the condominium buildings and the renowned King Street Mile with charming boutique and popular restaurants is nearby. Regional destinations including Washington, D.C. and National Harbor are an easy drive away.

Towngate North provides a unique mix of luxury, convenience, location and value that you won’t find elsewhere in Alexandria. If you had a chance to enhance a child’s future with a time commitment of less than 2 hours a week, how would you respond? You have that opportunity right now to join over 200 Alexandrians as a reading tutor volunteer with the Alexandria Tutoring Consortium (ATC).

ATC tutors work with one child in kindergarten, first, or second grade in Alexandria public schools who need extra help with reading. Tutors meet with their Book Buddy 1-2 times each week for 30 minutes October-May at school, during school hours. Many struggling readers only receive one-on-one instruction through this program, and it makes all the difference. Last year, ATC served 195 children, of whom 82% ended the year reading on grade level and 96% made substantial reading gains. But the need is great, and we are still seeing learning lags from the pandemic.

This year, ATC plans to significantly increase the size of the program to reach over 250 students and to serve every elementary school in Alexandria. This is very exciting news, but we will only succeed if we can recruit more tutors. ATC trains you, matches you with a child, and provides ongoing lesson materials and support.
