New Braddock Affordable Housing Complex Eyes Winter Opening

Affordable housing complex The Bloom is now scheduled to open sometime in December 2020 or January 2021.

The Alexandria Housing Development Corporation said in a press release that the 97-unit building at 930 N. Henry Street will open in the winter to locals at 50% or 60% of the area median income.

Waitlist applications are currently open for two-bedroom units that can fit households of 2, 3 or 4 people. Two of the units are wheelchair accessible.

“Applicants must apply by November 24 to be considered,” AHDC said. “Selected applicants will be contacted on or around November 25 to allow applicants to move in as soon as December 2020/January 2021.”
