Total new contract activity for last week was up 2% compared to the same seven-day period last year for the six jurisdictions we track.

The Virginia areas limped into the end of the year. Northern Virginia was down 6.7%, Prince William County was off 6.3% and Loudoun County was off 25.5%. The three jurisdictions on the other side of the Potomac did well, led by Washington, D.C.’s 53.6% increase in the number of newly ratified contracts. Montgomery County was up 6.8% and Prince George’s County was up 2.9%.
