Hi, I’m Senator Mark Warner, and I want to wish everyone a peaceful Veterans Day.
From our nation’s founding to today, generations of Americans have stepped forward to defend our freedoms. To every veteran, service member, and military family, thank you. Your sacrifice and courage embody the best of what it means to be an American.
As we honor that legacy, we must also recommit ourselves to the work ahead. Our duty does not end when service members return home. We must ensure every veteran has timely access to health care, including mental health support.
It means continuing to deliver on the promises we made through legislation like the bipartisan PACT Act and making sure those benefits reach every veteran who earned them.
It means protecting the VA workforce, so veterans get the services they need, when they need them.
And going forward, we must strengthen support for military families, help service members transition into good jobs and education opportunities, and use new tools and technology to better connect veterans with care.
On this Veterans Day, let’s recommit to honoring service not just with words, but with action today and in the years ahead. To all who have served and sacrificed, thank you.
