Gadsby’s Tavern Museum and the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum Extend “Summer” Hours

While the federal government is shut down, Gadsby’s Tavern Museum (134 N. Royal Street) and the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum (105–107 S. Fairfax Street) will continue operating on their “summer” schedules to provide additional options for visitors and furloughed workers.

Gadsby’s Tavern Museum Hours:

  • Sunday–Tuesday: 1–5 p.m.
  • Wednesday: Closed
  • Thursday–Friday: 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum Hours:

  • Sunday–Monday: 1–5 p.m.
  • Tuesday: Closed
  • Wednesday–Friday: 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

Typically, these sites close Mondays and Tuesdays starting in November, but are maintaining their extended hours during the shutdown to welcome visitors. All other City of Alexandria museums and historic sites continue to operate on their regular, year-round schedules.

Admission to all Historic Alexandria museums is free for Alexandria residents.
