Naturalist Charles R. Smith to Speak at April 1 , 2026 LLI Forum

The Lifetime Learning Institute of Northern Virginia, https://llinova.org/, an educational group for adults over 50, will hold its next in-person Forum on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the Little River United Church of Christ, 8410 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA. The guest will be naturalist and ecologist Charles R. Smith.

Charles Smith, a native of Arlington, VA, has over 30 years of experience working in natural resource management. This includes managing public lands for systems as large as 23,000 acres including forested ecosystems, grasslands, wetlands creation and river system restoration. He is retired from the Fairfax County government, where he most recently worked on stream and riparian corridor restoration. Smith is a U.S. Army veteran, a board member of the Virginia Native Plant Society and has served as an instructor for three chapters of the Virginia Master Naturalists. He will speak on the role of native plants in restoring our ecosystems.

This program is free and open to the public without registration. This program is part of LLI’s monthly Forum Series held the first Wednesday of each month. Social activities start at 9:30 am and the program begins at 10:00 am.
