NAACP Alexandria Branch Hosts Jazz Night Celebrating 100 Years of Black History

Alexandria, VA — The NAACP Alexandria Branch proudly commemorates a historic milestone: 100 Years of Black History. For a century, the Branch has dedicated itself to uplifting the community through advocacy, cultural preservation, and the celebration of Black excellence, resilience, and progress.

To commemorate this historic milestone, the NAACP Alexandria Branch will host a special Jazz Night Celebration, honoring the enduring and transformative impact of jazz on Black culture. Rooted in freedom, imagination, and collective expression, jazz has long served as a resonant voice for unity and empowerment. This year’s celebration will showcase an unforgettable evening of live music featuring the Vaughn Ambrose Trio, a Special Jazz Vocalist, and a brief presentation highlighting the significance of Black history and culture—bringing the vibrancy, power, and spirit of jazz to life in tribute to this remarkable centennial.
