Alexandria Teen Science Café Kicks Off Season 4 at Virginia Tech

Free monthly program for students in grades 8–12 explores the technology that keeps our connected world in sync

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Chrysalis Development Group (CDG) will kick off Season 4 of the Alexandria Teen Science Café on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 3:30 to 6:00 PM at Virginia Tech’s Academic Building One in Old Town Alexandria. The event is free and open to students in grades 8–12.

Presented in partnership with Virginia Tech, the session will explore how precision timing keeps financial networks, 5G communications, power grids, and data centers synchronized. Students will take part in hands-on circuit activities, hear from industry experts, including professionals from Meinberg USA, a company specializing in precision time synchronization technology, and learn about college pathways and career opportunities in the field.

Participants will receive certificates and verification of community service hours, as applicable. Students interested in taking a more active role in STEM programs can also complete a Teen Science Leader application at the café.

Space is limited. Families, teachers, and community members are encouraged to share the opportunity with students. Registration is available at https://forms.gle/ThzHffVs3fMFQu26A.
