From Sunday, May 14 through Tuesday, May 16, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) will be on the National Mall to host the Celebration of Construction on the National Mall from 9:00am – 5:00pm with construction equipment and technology on display for the public to experience. The event will span the National Mall from 9th to 14th Streets NW. This free public event is a unique opportunity for families with young children and anyone who wants to see the equipment building the world’s infrastructure. Are you struggling with pain during and after pregnancy?

Alexandria, Virginia, April 28, 2023 – The Critical Mass LLC, a leading security and consulting firm, is pleased to announce their successful fundraising campaign exceeding the goal of $4,500 in support of partners at Razom for Ukraine. Razom is a leading non-profit dedicated to amplifying voices in Ukraine and directly supporting needs of communities and individuals impacted by the current conflict. This is following a successful campaign from 2022 when The Critical Mass (TCM) and partners raised over $4,000.

TCM partnered with Made In ALX, Lost Boy Cider, and the local Ukrainian-American community in Northern Virginia led by Ms. Stephanie Cheeseman, to sell over 90 hand painted Ukrainian pysanky eggs. Ms. Cheeseman was featured in a Washington Post article in March 2022 and led a contingent of artists who donated over 120 eggs in 2022 and 2023. Pysanky (pronounced PIH-san-kih – singular form is pysanka) are Ukrainian Easter eggs. The art has been passed down through generations of Ukrainians and are traditionally made during Lent to be given as gifts to friends and family.

​MVCCT’s professional performers and teaching artists will help children build self-confidence, teamwork skills, focus, imagination and much more in these creative play-centered camps. We offer creative and fun theater-based lesson plans catered specifically to each age group. Camp is open to rising 1st through 8th graders.

August, a sweet female Shiba Inu, has gone missing in the Landmark area of Alexandria, VA, at the intersection of Duke St and N Paxton. She went missing April 10th, just before 3 PM. At the time of the disappearance, she was under the care of a colleague of her owners, who are currently overseas. Despite efforts to locate the dog, there have been no sightings, which suggests that someone may have taken her. Hundreds of flyers have been distributed within a 3 mile radius of where she went missing, thanks to friends of the colleague and caring volunteers. Professional Pet Trackers were hired and the track was a very short one, leaving the family to conclude she was put into a car somewhere on the opposite side of that intersection. We are calling on the community’s help – We are pleading for you to share her flyer to help get the word out and help us reunite this sweet girl with her family, who miss her terribly.
