The Old Town North Community Partnership will host its annual Dogtoberfest celebration Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Montgomery Park, featuring live music, costume contests and activities for pets and families.
Local performer Mike Seti will perform from noon to 1 p.m. as part of the Music in Montgomery Park concert series. The free, pet- and family-friendly event will take place at 901 North Royal St. A rain date is scheduled for Nov. 2.
“The OTNCP is delighted to share live music from Mike Seti at Dogtoberfest, the annual celebration of all things dog and cat,” said Margaret Townsend, president of the Old Town North Community Partnership and owner of River’s Edge Yoga.
The event will feature paw and palm readings, raffles, and costume contests for pets and children. Several animal rescue organizations from Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia will be on hand to share information about their missions. The celebration coincides with the Old Town North Sunday Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market.
“This free, family and pet-friendly event allows folks to show off their costume creativity, have paws and palms read, and learn about the mission of several animal rescue organizations,” Townsend said. “The Music in Montgomery Park Series brings our diverse neighborhoods together as a community to shop at the farmers market, pick up a meal and picnic in the park while enjoying live music with local artists.”
The concert series is part of the Old Town North Annual Event Season sponsored by HRP Group, which is redeveloping the former power plant site in Old Town North. Burke and Herbert Bank support the music programming.
The series will return in spring 2026 with concerts in April, May, and June.
On-street parking is available near Montgomery Park.
