Meet your new best friend, Oreo – this week’s adoptable dog of the week.
Available for adoption from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA), Oreo is a male one-year-and-seven-month-old mixed-breed.
“Meet Oreo! Just like the cookie, he’s a black and white dog, 1 year and 7 months old, weighing 52 pounds,” the AWLA shares with ALXnow. “Oreo is outgoing and friendly when meeting new dogs and people, and would fit in best with an active person or family to go on walks, hikes, or adventures with”.
AWLA continues, “Oreo is still on the young side and very eager to keep learning, so he’s looking for someone who can help continue his training”.

Hi! My name is Oreo and I am just as sweet as the cookie I am named after! I am a young black and white dog who is as social as I am handsome. I love people and seem to get along with other dogs. I greet everyone I meet with enthusiastic tail wags! I do a really nice sit for my treats and am very gentle when taking them from your hand. I enjoy going on walks and like to do a lot of sniffing along the way. I like to take in all of the wonderful smells that the world has to offer! I would make a great companion for someone who likes to go on hikes or just likes to take casual walks around the neighborhood. As long as I am with my person, I am a happy pup! As I am still on the young side and am eager to learn new things I am looking for someone who will my continuing training so I can be the best dog I can be. I am going to make a great companion for someone who is looking for a loyal and loving partner in life. So is you think I could be the one for you, let’s meet and take it from there!
