The Symphony Orchestra of Northern Virginia is bringing a series of chamber music performances to the Charles E. Beatley Central Library (5005 Duke Street) this June. The concerts will feature a mix of classical, contemporary, and movie music.
The series features four unique performances throughout the month, each highlighting a distinct musical style and instrumental group.
The series starts on June 7 (Saturday) at 2:30 p.m. in the library’s Reading Garden with “Chamber Music from Mozart to Disney.” This opening show blends classical favorites with popular Disney tunes.

On June 8, the series continues with “Music of the Americas, Selections for Wind Quintet”.
The brass section takes the spotlight on June 14 with “Music from Canzonas to Big Band,” featuring a brass quintet.
The series wraps up on June 29 with “Magical Music, Fantastical Worlds for String Orchestra.”..
All concerts are free, but donations are welcome. The Symphony Orchestra has backup indoor locations planned in case of bad weather.
The City of Alexandria is supporting this concert series.
