Del Ray’s Well Ray Festival returns for 9th year of health and wellness

Get ready for the ninth annual Well Ray Festival, Alexandria’s largest outdoor wellness event. It’s happening on Saturday (May 17) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Mt. Vernon and Bellefonte Avenues. And the best part? It’s completely free.

This year’s festival features over 50 wellness and holistic health experts offering a wide range of services. You can get health screenings, therapeutic massages, acupuncture, physical therapy advice, and nutrition tips. There’s also wellness merchandise, food samples, and fun activities for the whole family, including face painting and a rock climbing wall.

This year’s festival, organized by Del Ray Business Association, benefits Wilderness Kids Alexandria, a non-profit that introduces teenagers from underserved communities to nature. It helps them develop a lifelong love for outdoor activities that boost their mental and physical health.

Want to join in on the action? Bring your water bottle, yoga mat, and workout shoes. There are 15 outdoor classes for all ages, including yoga, dance, high fitness, breathwork, karate, and gong sound sessions for kids and adults alike.

You can sign up for classes at wellraydelray.com. A $5 donation per class is suggested, and all proceeds go directly to Wilderness Kids Alexandria.

Early birds, take note: The first 100 people to arrive will snag a free swag bag from local businesses. Plus, everyone who registers gets entered into a grand prize raffle, with winners announced at noon.
