Alexandria’s Summer Lineup: Pride, jazz, history, and more await

Summer in Alexandria is set to sizzle with an eclectic mix of festivals, cultural celebrations, and vibrant community gatherings, as Visit Alexandria unveiled today (May 8) a packed schedule designed to draw residents and visitors alike.

From early June through August, Alexandria will host everything from the 8th Annual Alexandria Pride Fair and Juneteenth commemorations to the ALX Jazz Fest on the waterfront, alongside the return of popular events like Alexandria Restaurant Week and the Old Town Arts & Crafts Fair, promising a season full of diverse experiences.

Re-launched Water Taxi Route

  • The gameday commute just got a major upgrade! As of April 21, City Cruises re-launched the Navy Yard Loop, transporting riders between Old Town Alexandria and D.C.’s Navy Yard, directly connecting fans to Nationals Park, Audi Field and the Navy Yard district.

  • The annual Old Town Arts & Crafts Fair, featuring local and regional artisans, is happening June 7 in Waterfront Park.
  • One of the longest-running seasonal summer shopping events—Alexandria Summer Sidewalk Sale—returns to the D.C. region’s “Shop Small” destination on August 9.
