Cherry blossom fans can look forward to a colorful spring in and around Alexandria as the region prepares for the iconic blooms, which the National Park Service says are scheduled to be at peak bloom from March 28 to 31, 2025.
Visit Alexandria has unveiled a lineup of cherry blossom-themed events, activities, and experiences in the city, giving both locals and tourists plenty of ways to enjoy the seasonal display.
Offering great alternatives to the National Mall blossom viewing. Visit Alexandria reminds visitors and residents that the city has its own collection of cherry blossoms and spring flowers at Founder’s Park and River Farm.
For those who want a different view, water-based trips are available. City Cruises runs a 90-minute roundtrip Cherry Blossom Monuments Sightseeing Cruise from Old Town on weekends from March 22 to April 13.
If you’re heading to D.C., the Potomac Water Taxi offers a quick 25-minute direct cruise from Old Town to The Wharf from March 20 to April 12. This puts you within walking distance of the Tidal Basin’s famous cherry trees.
Bike enthusiasts can join a 3-hour Cherry Blossom Guided E-bike Tour with Pedego Electric Bikes. The route takes you from Old Town to the Tidal Basin, riding under canopies of pink and white blossoms.
Art fans should check out the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center’s “Fleeting: An Exhibition of Artists from Torpedo Factory Art Center Celebrating Cherry Blossoms and Ethereal Blooms inside the Enamelists Gallery at the Torpedo Factory Art Center.
